SETON'S FINEST!

The varsity dance team is made up of the best dancer's from Seton High School. Originally formed in 1976 by the Sisters of Charity to build school spirit for Seton High School, they performed in parades and pep rallies. Since then they have grown into a competitive dance team, winning 11 State and National titles along the way.

This year the team again performed, along with the Junior High and Youth teams, at the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society Light the Night Walk at Sawyer Point in September. They were extremely honored to perform for this special occasion and many of the team members raised money and joined in the walk this year. The Varsity Highlighters then started off a great competition season in 2009-10, placing 1st in the JAZZ division at the UDA Floyd Central Invitational. They then competed at the AmeriDance Ohio Cheer & Dance Championships in Columbus in November and won 1st place in the JAZZ division. The Highlighters then went on to compete at the UDA Winterfest Championship receiving 1st place in POM. They competed at both the AmeriDance Mount Notre Dame Dance Classic and Mystical Illusion Dance Classic receiving 1st place in POM, 1st place in JAZZ and the Grand Champion Award for JAZZ. In February the Varsity team also received the National POM and JAZZ Championship titles (and jackets) at the JamFest Super Nationals at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.

As always, the highlight of the season for the Varsity team was competing in the Large Varsity Pom and Jazz Divisions at the National Dance Team Championships in Orlando, Florida. They proudly made it to Finals with their POM & JAZZ routines, placing 9th in pom (of 18 teams in finals) and 8th in jazz (of 17 teams in finals). This marked the first time that Seton Varsity finished in the Top 10 with both of their routines at Nationals.

Congratulations on a fantastic 09-10 season ladies!
