HIGHLIGHTERS WALK TO LIGHT THE NIGHT!
The Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide walk to raise awareness and funds to cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
The Seton High School Dance Teams are participating in the Light The Night Walk at Sawyer Point on September 18, 2008 in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancer. These people are the real heroes, and we need your support to help accelerate cures and give hope to patients and their families. Although research is responsible for increasing survival rates for these diseases, the battle is far from over.
We are extremely honored to again be performing at the pre walk festivities. All three of our competitive teams, Varsity, Junior High & Mini, will be performing individually along with a group hip-hop routine that they will do as an organization. Registration for the event begins at 5:30 on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Sawyer Point and the walk portion of the evening will start at approximately 7:30, after our performances.
Several parents and coaches brought up the idea last year, to actually broaden our participation since so many of us have been, or know someone who has been, touched by cancer. We would like to extend and invitation to all family members, friends, fans and alumni of the Highlighter organization and Seton High School to join us in walking for this wonderful cause. There is no registration fee to participate, but it is a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. If you, or anyone you know, would like to walk OR make a donation they can do so, all in the name of our team’s participants. You can register to walk on-line here. Just click on JOIN and you can input all your information. You can also make donations towards a particular walker by clicking on their name once they are registered to walk. We look forward to seeing all of our family and friends there for this special evening!
